If you haven't noticed I'm a sucker for tracks that set off my sense of nostalgia, and this week I got a banger that does just that. I bring you Muzzy's latest effort, and no it's not the big green monster that taught you to speak Spanish as a kid (or French, English, German, or whatever). Muzzy Obaidi lives across the pond in Hampshire, England and has been making tunes since 2008. The man has several releases out on Monstercat Media and his latest effort "Letz Rock" is four minutes and twenty six seconds of 8-bit Drum and Bass madness! The track starts with very basic beat with a 8-bit filter on top of everything. Then at around 20 seconds in those drums drop out and an oh so creme filled synth line picks up that lovely 8-bit sound and cares it through the rest of the track. When the drum line comes back in the filter has been dropped from it to give the track a bit more modern feel and man is it so FCKING good! Not to mention that Drumstep influenced bass line crunching repeatedly in background, this track has got all the layers to make it take you down Nostalgia lane without feeling dated.
