KANDI LAND - FULL REVIEW

The week leading up to Kandi Land was about as long and as drawn out as you could get.  The weather was whack on all levels and work was, well work.  So when Friday finally got around to showing its beautiful face I was all high fives and see you later guys.  Then I went outside…

It was snowing like a banshee!  NO…worse than that.  It was snowing like a mother FCK’ing hurricane.  F’real, the snow was shooting sideways at like fiddy miles per hour.  It was snowing to the point where I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it out to Albany and catch the party.  After many weather.com checks and coin tosses I finally said FCK it and got in my mean machine and headed out.

I rolled up to the party much later than I wished, but better late than never right?  (I was SUPER bummed that I missed Ken3tic's set thought!) After circling the Armory for 10’s of minutes I finally found a spot.  (Is it just me or does parking suck around the Armory?  Albany folk… hit me up with parking secrets)  Once I get to the door I’m told by security that I have to already have my press pass on me before entering.  After advising him of how much sense that did not make, he called a very friendly Mr. Corts to the door it get it settled… which it did in 2.3 seconds flat.

Once I made it in I was floored at how packed the place was.  Generally you only see that type of turn out with a national type headliner on the line up.  I’m not scoffing at the talent that rocked Kandi Land by any stretch.  Everyone absolutely rocked it!  After making it inside I met up with Miss Noise, her bf and friend, Ariel.  It’s always cool to meet people IRL after you’ve been chatting them up online for a while. Awesome music?  New friends?  FCK YES!

I wasn’t a fan of the “beer garden” that was sectioned off from the rest of the crowd.  I understand that safety first and all that, but I felt like a caged manimal just waiting to rage in between drinks.  I couldn’t stay mad because Bandikook & Eric David brought the fire that got me jamming out in between sips of whiskey sours.

Ultimately though, the set of the night goes to DJ Prophet.  The only time I stopped dancing was in between camera snaps.  I went out to the smoking area to cool my heels after his set and all I saw was smiles and all I heard was FCK YES! that was awesome.  His set was energy packed from start to finish, and for that I thank you sir.

A big ol’ shout out to all the people who made Kandi Land happen!  The sound was on point, the stage looked neat-o Toledo, all of the dancers on stage were cutie patooties, and FCK YES! I left the party with a smile ear to ear.  Big ups to Michael Corts and Avid Entertainment for a well rounded line up ( and following through with top notch promotion and production.
