With all of the excellent shows and festivals happening this summer we were lucky to find a DJ who had the time to get silly with us for a few questions. Thankfully Kill Frenzy from Belgium had some free time in between contemplating the finer differences between titties and booties, preparing for Hard's Day of the Dead, and eating cereal. Buckle up and read the full interview below.
FCK YES! - How did it all begin?
When did Kill Frenzy take his first breath?
Kill Frenzy - I started when I was around 17 to really get into techno and
wanted to start dj’ing. So, I bought some record players and with the rest of
the money I had I bought a couple of techno records. Because I had no money I
used allot of my moms old records like: Madonna, Sade, disco records, even Pink
Floyd's smoke on the water and try to learn to beat match and mix those with
the techno records. So that’s when I started to love mixing different genres
together instead of just doing one specific thing.
FY! - Take us through a day in the life of Kill Frenzy.
KF - Depends on what day, but let’s take a normal one. Wake up,
touch some ass and titties, and eat a bowl of cereal. Then I would proceed to
listen to some music to get inspired. After that I have some fun creating my
own music and forget about everything else until I get hungry and then I’ll go
down and eat something ; )
FY! - Do you think European dj's have an advantage over American
dj's?
KF - I’m not sure, i never really thought about that. I don't
really care where the person who makes the music is from so I don't see why
that would have an advantage.
FY! - Which do you prefer... performing or producing?
KF - The feeling you get when you just created something you’re
really proud of feels really good and peaceful to me. But having people go
bananas when your playing, girls flashing their titties, booty's clapping and
just feeling connected with the crowd is maybe more intense. It all kind of hangs together for me. Create
music, go to the club, play it.
What’s your idea of relaxing? What do you do when you need to unplug?
KF - Anything that focuses my concentration to one point and
focus only on that one thing makes me relax. Not think about anything else just
that one thing. May it be: Making music, licking clit, mixing,
meditating, or looking into a beautiful girl’s eyes... you can get it out of
anything really.
FY! - Who are you most excited to share the stage with at Hard
Presents Day of the Dead?
KF - It's not fair for me to say who I’m just happy to be on
there! :)
FY! - What’s your favorite venue to perform?
KF - Dirtybird quarterly at Mezzanine in San Francisco for sure! I just love that place and the people!
FY! - What’s next for Kill Frenzy?
Give us the inside info.
KF - I got some new music coming out. A new release on Turbo Records and after that
a new one on Dirtybird! Plus a remix for
Druid cloak on Kastle's label Symbols and a remix for Riva Starr featuring
Chromeo.
FY! - One last question: Tits or ass?
KF - I have been thinking about that for a while, and I must say it’s
not easy. The thing with ass is if you have a nice one you will probably have
nice legs too and there is a good chance
your tummy is looking good too, ha ha On
the other hand if you have nice tits that doesn't necessarily mean you have a
nice figure. But they are hypnotizing though.
